Google searches show recession is on the UK’s mind

Searches on Google.co.uk news shows clearly how Brexit has sparked a concern about recession among UK web searchers. Post-Referendum there has been a spike in searching for both recession and the EU related words and phrases. Brexit, EU and Recession are becoming linked in the minds of UK consumers and businesses.

The Bank of England, via its network of agents who talk with businesses across the UK, has indicated Pre-Referendum fears are becoming a reality, while investors have begun to back away from property leading to three open-ended property funds to freeze withdrawals.

And what of the future? Well no one really knows. The UK has taken a leap in the dark and we don’t know how far we have to fall
