A well-established household name and a global market leader for the retailing of travel related services.
The client required an assessment of the trends and profiles of passengers using major European airport terminals. The segmentation profile of passengers involved a complex matrix of origin/destination and type of traveller variables. This was required in order to determine which airport terminals had the highest growth prospects for the products/services offered by the client.
The principal methodologies used were data collection, data modelling and forecasting. Data obtained from airports, national statistical offices and other organisations were reduced to a consistent format in order to establish a common base for forecasting passenger profiles from existing trends.
The client was provided with a dossier and recommendations substantiated with forecasts and development plans of the best airport terminal prospects for its target customers.
