The UK travel market to France fights back in the first quarter 2012.
Despite a 0.7% decline in outbound visits to Europe, the number of UK residents visits to France increased by over 1% in the first quarter of 2012 compared with the same quarter in 2011. The trend was the same in the ski sector as ski demand to France increased against a decline in the market overall.
France captured 23% of the market to Europe in the first quarter of 2012 with nearly 1.7 million visits, some 17% more visits than its nearest rival, Spain with 1.4 million visits.
These are just some of the findings in the quarterly report from IRN Research, France – UK Visitors which provides detailed breakdowns of UK visitors to France by age, gender, reason for travel, residency and mode of transport.
